Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns match NOT televised on SABC, fans frustrated

“You are showing us useless games, SABC 3 will show us Barclays Premier League instead of Kaizer Chiefs VS Mamelodi Sundowns,” fans lash out.

SABC will not televise the anticipated Carling Knockout Cup match between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The two teams face each other in the quarter-final of the competition at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening. Given how big the match is, many local fans expected the quarter-final clash to be televised on SABC but instead the public broadcaster only televised the Carling KO clash between Richards Bay and Cape Towns City.

SABC go blackout on the Chiefs and Sundowns clash

The two teams already played each other in September with Sundowns winning the league clash 2-1. Amakhosi came into the game having only won once in their last four matches and are desperate to turn the corner.

Under Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs have impressed especially in their first four matches.

“Turns out SABC will only broadcast Richards Bay game at 15:00 and not the Kaizer Chiefs vs Sundowns one,” tweeted @RaphalaMahuna.

“We need Chiefs vs Sundowns. Like when you guys are sitting in your offices does this make sense? We cannot get the best of local football but you giving us Bundesliga. You make us angry,” tweeted @AkapheliAfrica.
