FANA MOKOENA RETURNING TO SCREEN?
The former Generations star Fana Mokoena returned to television in 2021 after eight years to play the character of Vukile Kubeka in e.tv’s most-watched soapie Scandal!
According to the storyline, the Kubeka family run one of the top waste management companies in the country. His character, who exited the show in 2022 aimed to create generational wealth for the family. The star told the publication at the time that his role will conscientise many people about the world of corruption. .
Mokoena, who is was an EFF (Economic Freedom Party) MP revealed to TshisaLIVE in August 2021 that he’s ‘not a politician’ but just an activist.
He added that he’s very politically aware and has always been an activist and absorbed it from his mother because she was politically active and loves learning new things.
The actor-activist also said it was an opportunity for him to learn and although it took society a very long time to accept him in that space he was not worried.

LIFE AFTER ‘GENERATIONS’
TVSA reports that the former Generations actor Fana Mokoena has also appeared in TV shows such as Yizo Yizo season one as Thulas, The Lab seasons one to three as Simon Bhengu, Blood Psalms season one as Old Slave etc.
The talented actor also scored a supporting role as General Bizimingu in the 2004 film titled Hotel Rwanda.
The Nation reports that he became a permanent delegate to the National Council of Provinces in May 2014 and left in August 2016.
The publication adds that Mokoena became a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa in August 2016 and left the position in October 2020.
