Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco announce surprise collab album

Selena Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco, are releasing a collaborative album titled I Said I Love You First, which will be released on 21 March.

The power couple surprised fans worldwide with this exciting news on the 13 of February just before Valentine’s Day.

Selena Gomez, the 32-year-old singer and actress, shared the news on Instagram.

“I always trick you guys 🥰. My NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 🖤”.

Blanco, 36, sweetly replied, “I love you baby”.

The album promises to be a deeply personal journey, chronicling their love story from the very beginning, according to Entertainment Weekly.

According to a press release, it will explore “their entire story—before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds”.

The couple also released the first single from the album, Scared of Loving You, a guitar-driven ballad that’s already making waves, according to Vogue.

In the song, Gomez sings about the fear of losing her special someone. “‘Cause I’m not scared of loving you/I’m just scared of losing you,” she croons.

Selena Gomez and Blanco first worked together in 2015, with Blanco co-producing Kill Em with Kindness and Same Old Love on Gomez’s album Revival.

They teamed up again in 2019 for I Can’t Get Enough. Their engagement was then announced in December 2024, according to People.

I Said I Love You First marks Selena Gomez’s return to music after her 2020 album, Rare.

Benny Blanco, an 11-time Grammy nominee, shared his excitement on social media. He posted videos from the album shoot, writing, “I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with you”.
