Jub Jub ‘arrested’ for alleged rape, assault and attempted murder
Rapper Jub Jub has reportedly been charged and arrested for alleged rape, attempted murder, and assault charges.
Sunday World reports that South African rapper and TV presenter Jub Jub has been arrested and charged for rape, attempted murder and assault charges.

JUB JUB ARRESTED AND CHARGED?
The former Uyajola 9/9 TV presenter and rapper Molemo Maarohanye is reportedly due in Johannesburg magistrate’s court for rape, attempted murder, and assault charges.
The publication adds that Maarohanye handed himself over to the police in Brixton on Thursday, 27 July after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo revealed in a statement: “Police can confirm that a well-known rapper handed himself over to the police in Brixton on Thursday, 27 July 2023, after a warrant of arrest was issued against him. He is expected to appear before the Johannesburg magistrate’s court today facing charges of rape, attempted murder and assault.”
It is unclear at this stage when the rapper and TV personality committed the offences. The South African will give more details on this story soon.

REACTIONS FROM SOCIAL MEDIA
SABC News Reporter Chriselda Lewis also reported on Twitter on Thursday, 27 July that Gauteng police have confirmed that a well-known rapper has handed himself over, arrested and charged with alleged rape, attempted murder and assault, but did not disclose his identity.
“He is currently appearing at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court. It was after an arrest warrant was issued, ” said Lewis.
Newzroom Afrika revealed on Twitter that the rapper was granted R10 000 bail after appearing before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of rape, attempted murder and assault.
The BBC reported in December 2012 that the rapper was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of four school children during a car accident.
He was convicted in October after racing on a public road and driving under the influence of drugs in Soweto in 2010 and was released on parole on 5 January 2017.
