Beloved South African-born rugby player Siya Kolisi made his debut with the French Club, Racing 92 and was received well by the French fans.
A month after lifting the Webb Ellis Cup at the Stade de France stadium in Paris as the 2023 Rugby World Cup champions with the Springboks, Siya Kolisi made his debut with the French rugby club, Racing 92 and was received well by the team’s fans as seen in an X (formally known as Twitter) post shared on Monday, 27 November.

The 32-year-old openside flanker made his debut with Racing 92 over the weekend. Racing 92 ended the game by beating La Rochelle 32-10 in Paris and took over the number one spot in the French Top 14 table, EWN reported. According to the publication, Siya Kolisi was candid about being nervous about joining his new team on the field for the first time in a real match.
“I was quite nervous before the game because your reputation and all that you do can only take you so far. The guys only respect you by what you do on the field and that’s what I wanted to do, play well and add value with what I do on the field,” Kolisi was quoted as saying.

The South African-born International rugby star, Siya Kolisi started in the back-row alongside France international Wenceslas Lauret and Jordan Joseph while Les Bleus’ Cameron Woki was in the second row for the hosts, Planet Rugby reported. The seasoned Springboks captain is said to have played for 54 minutes before he was replaced by Max Baudonne.
After the match, Kolisi was spotted cheering from the sidelines, dancing and singing with the Racing 92 fans as seen in an X video.
