BUSTA 929 REMEMBERS MPURA
Taking to his Instagram timeline, Busta 929 shared a video of them fooling around in his car. Mpura was vocalising a beat while playing with Busta’s head.
Mpura, real name Mongezi Stuurman, was one of the pioneers of Amapiano. He worked with Busta 929 on massive hits, including Umsebenzi Wethu, VSOP, and Usizo. Mpura’s songs were groove anthems and were on high rotation on radio and TV stations, and received massive streams on digital music platforms.
WHEN DID MPURA DIE?
Mpura was at the top of his game when he passed away. Mpura, Killer Kau, and several other upcoming artists died in a car accident on 7 August 2021. They were on their way to a gig when the head-on collision on the N4 in Rustenburg near the Marikana toll gate claimed their lives.
Their deaths sent shock waves across the country with scores of people taking to social media to pay tributes to the fallen stars.

Babes Wodumo also remembered her late husband, Mampintsha. The Gqom Queen posted a video of the Big Nuz member chatting with their son, Sponge Wodumo. Mapintsha, real name Mandla Maphumulo, was ready to film when Sponge toddled on set.
