Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has finally given the public a glimpse of the son she shares with her Nigerian ex-husband, a club promoter called King Sefo.

The Cape Town-born beauty queen recently had her South African identity and passport revoked amid an investigation by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

According to Minister Leon Schreiber, Chidimma’s mother is not a South African citizen and was involved in identity theft and fraud when registering her birth. The model and law has acquired Nigerian citizenship through her father.

Since competing in the pageant, Chidimma has remained in Nigeria.

CHIDIMMA SHARES FIRST LOOK AT SON

In a TikTok video, Chidimma Adetshina shared a glimpse of what motherhood looked like.

The 23-year-old reposted the viral: “You decided to give motherhood a chance” trend. In the clip, the toddler is seen playfully stomping on his mother’s head while she laughs at the camera.

The video marks the first time the beauty queen has posted or mentioned her son since initially competing in the Miss South Africa pageant last year.

In an interview with Sowetan, Chidimma revealed that she had divorced her husband in February 2024. She claimed that gender stereotyping was the reason behind their split.

She told the publication: “My parents have been very supportive, and although my marriage robbed me from enjoying the beauty of pregnancy and being a wife, overall, it brings me joy that I get to take new steps with my son.

Chidimma added: “I didn’t think I’d be a mom at my age as he was conceived out of wedlock, but I’m glad to have him.”

After stepping down from Miss SA, Chidimma was invited to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant weeks later, which she won. In December, Chidimma was crowned Miss Universe runner-up at the international pageant held in Mexico.

WHAT IS BABY’S NATIONALITY?

Late last year, the DHA stated that their investigation into the matter had proven that Chidimma Adetshina’s mother was not a South African citizen and was involved in identity theft and fraud when registering her birth.

By default of her relation to her mother, both women have been stripped of their SA IDs and passports.

According to multiple bloggers, Chidimma’s ex-husband King Sefo, is a Nigerian living in South Africa.

With Chidimma’s SA papers revoked, it’s likely that her son’s nationality has also been revoked by default. It is likely her son has been granted a Nigerian citizenship based on his father’s staus.

The South African has reached out to the DHA for official comment. None has been received.
