‘Nigerians will always be better’: Chidimma claps back at critics
Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina clapped at critics who questioned her parents ancestry and Home Affairs investigation…

Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has clapped back at South Africans who criticised a clip of her Nigerian father.
The Cape Town-born model – who dropped out of the 2024 Miss SA pageant over a Home Affairs investigation – has had her SA ID and passport seized.
Her mother, Anabela Rungo – a Mozambican – was recently arrested and released on bail over allegations she unlawfully registered her daughter as a South African via fraudulent documents.
CHIDIMMA POSTS CLIP OF DAD, SLAMS CRITICS
On her TikTok account, Chidimma posted her version of the trend of her “misbehaving” father.
In the clip, the father of the Miss Universe runner-up – Michael Adetshina – was seen dancing and enjoying a social gathering.

Under the post, several South Africans commented about Chidimma’s family being investigated by Home Affairs and claims they were illegally living in the country.
However, the 23-year-old wasted no time in clapping back, stating that her father is still living in SA.
Chidimma poked fun at claims that her father was a Nigerian “drug lord” living in Cape Town. She also responded to criticism that she was older than her alleged date of birth.
When one TikTok commented, “Is this how Miss Universe Nigeria acts? What a shame speaking to people like you do.” Chidimma responded, “One thing about me: I’ll come for you and your generation. I’m not the one!”
She added: “In Nigeria, we know how to handle people like you.”
To another, she responded, “Nigerians will always be better, and that’s why you’re bitter.”

Chidimma also clapped back at claims her mother “stole” the identity of another South African baby.
She responded: “You still failed to bring the girl to us…show us this imaginary girl! I’m still waiting…it’s been a year.”
PARENTS ANCESTRY
According to reports, Chidimma’s parents, Nigerian Michael Adetshina and Mozambican Anabelo Rungo, met in Johannesburg in the late ’90s and lived in Pimville with her maternal family.
The model spent her early years in Soweto and later moved to Cape Town.
After quitting the Miss SA pageant in August 2024, Chidimma entered the Miss Nigeria competition a few weeks later, which she won. In December, she was crowned Miss Universe runner-up.
