Award-winning singer Tyla Seethal flew the South African flag high when she made history as the youngest South African Grammy Award-winner on Sunday, 4 February in the United States.

HALALA! TYLA WINS GRAMMY

Tyla has undeniably taken all over social media with her hypnotic and seductive summer anthem, Water. Her hit song was reported to have made it to the top five in dozens of countries, and ended 2023 as the most-streamed Afrobeats song on Spotify, BBC reported.

The South African-born singer recently walked away with a Grammy in the category for Best African Music Performance. She accepted her award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards premiere ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

“What? Oh my gosh, guys, this is crazy! I never thought I’d say I won a Grammy at 22 years old,” Tyla said in her acceptance speech.

“I know my mum is crying somewhere in here. Thank you to The Recording Academy for this category. It’s so important. I know I’m forgetting some things, but I won a Grammy!” she added before walking off stage.
