VUSI NOVA’S ALLEGED EX-LOVER DIES
Controversial businessman Joseph ‘Joe’ Safra, also known as Aeghatidis Andreas and Dr. Jonathan Rothschild, has passed away.
Details surrounding his cause of death remain unclear. His close friend told Zimoja that he is “resting and had a good run.”
Safra, who gained notoriety for his dodgy business dealings, was previously rumoured to have been romantically involved with singer Vusi Nova.
The businessman was accused of deceiving prominent celebrities and business executives by claiming to be the son of Brazilian billionaire Joseph Safra.
Using a fake identity, he initially presented himself as a global entrepreneur affiliated with the so-called Safra Group. This allowed him to lure individuals with promises of lucrative job opportunities.
His fraudulent actions also resulted in charges for defrauding Leon Kruger and his wife, Catharina Johanna Kruger, out of nearly R1 million between 2011 and 2014.
He created a false persona as Dr. Joseph Safra Sr., a wealthy billionaire, and ran Safrasa Investments. Vusi Nova was listed as the company’s managing director.
The two were arrested in 2015, but Vusi was later released due to insufficient evidence.
VUSI NOVA ON RUMOURS SURROUNDING HIS SEXUALITY
In 2017, the Afro-pop star spoke to TshisaLIVE about the rumours surrounding his sexuality. His sexuality has also been the subject of speculation. He told the outlet that he became concerned when he started reading false news about his love life.
“I was okay with it in the beginning‚ people started asking questions, and I would laugh it off. But it got a little more serious for me when I would read ridiculous things like I had gone to an island with my boyfriend and got married. That was when it really got to me‚” Vusi said.
After that, Vusi said he decided to take a more reserved approach and kept his romantic life out of the public eye.
“I started feeling like whatever I decide to do in my personal life has nothing to do with anyone else. I got to the point where I don’t feel like I need to explain to people who I am dating or why I am dating that person.”
He continued, “I am not going to entertain it and say I am gay or I am straight because I don’t feel it has anything to do with anyone.”
