‘Can’t wait to drag Camilla, Charles’: First look at ‘The Crown’ S5
Fans of Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ are hoping to see the ‘entanglement’ between Charles, Camilla and Diana play out in season five.
Netflix has announced the release date and first-look trailer for series five of The Crown – set to centre around Charles, Diana, and Camilla – and fans think the timing is perfect!
The royal series comes just a few short weeks after Queen Elizabeth’s death. Shortly thereafter, her successor; son King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla were named.
And fans of the show are hoping it relives all the drama which took place more than three decades ago.

NETFLIX REVEALS FIRST LOOK AT ‘THE CROWN’ S5
Without going into detail, Netflix shared a social media announcement of The Crown season five, airing on 9 November.
Accompanying the release date was a picture of a wall with a huge crack in it – possibly signifying the cracks in both then Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage.
The Crown also shared a first-look trailer of what to expect. In the 48-second clip, Princess Diana – played by actress Elizabeth Debicki – readies herself for her infamous BBC Panorama interview in 1995.
According to royal reporter Omid Scobie – who happens to be a close friend of Meghan Markle – The Crown S5 “will focus on Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and the treatment of Princess Diana”.

CHARLES, DIANA, AND CAMILLA
The messy relationship between Charles, Diana and his mistress Camilla is a well-documented one, likely to be explored in The Crown.
Whilst King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla are happily married, they were once embroiled in scandal after beginning an affair in 1986. This, despite Charles marrying Princess Diana in 1981.
According to leaked tapes made by Diana, she confronted Camilla about the affair at a party in 1989.
Diana said of her confrontation with Camilla: “She said to me: ‘You’ve got everything you ever wanted. You’ve got all the men in the world fall in love with you and you’ve got two beautiful children. What more do you want?’. So I said: ‘I want my husband’. And I said, ‘I’m sorry I’m in the way…and it must be hell for both of you. But I do know what’s going on. Don’t treat me like an idiot’”.

In 1992, Charles and Diana officially separated. A year later, a secret recording of a phone call between Charles and Camilla is leaked. And media ran with all the explicit details of their sexualised conversation, including the former fantasising about being a “tampon” for his lady love.
In 1995, Camilla separated from her own husband Andrew Parker Bowles. That same year, Princess Diana’s bombshell Panorama interview with Martin Bashir is released. In it, she infamously said of her relationship: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage. So it was a bit crowded.”
Diana would die in a fiery car crash in 1997 in Paris. Charles and Camilla would officially tie the knot in 2005, 35 years after they first met.
TWEEPS DRAG KING AND QUEEN CONSORT
With news of the impending season of The Crown and all the skeletons it brings, tweeps shared their thoughts on how they hoped the new season would play out.
@suthrngurl: “What a way to reintroduce the queen consort. The timing is impeccable”
@FrogmoreR: “Am old enough to have observed in real-time: Charles was a selfish & callous husband & father & Camilla was the female version of him. Will be watching to see if it’s watered down. I hope the tampon is front & center”
@chattypatra: “I’m from Princess Diana’s generation and will never forget how Charles and Camilla treated her. It was immoral, unrepentant adultery, and psychological abuse. And now we’re supposed to pretend the King is righteous and his Queen, a grand lady? Please. Bring it on!”
@LoordyMarie: “OOPS. And Camilla thought she got away with it. ‘It’s been so long people will forgive me’, I don’t think so. It’s still fresh in our minds. To me, it was child abuse. Diana was 19 Charles and Camilla were in their mid-30s bullying her to her death”
@pmhfc23: “ can’t wait to drag Charles and Camilla again when the new season comes out”
