Actress Zandile Msutwana, who plays Vuyiswa on The Queen, has announced her return to the popular Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen. The announcement follows the news that her temporary replacement, Thembisa Mdoda, is pregnant.

She informed her followers two days ago that she has completely healed after sustaining an injury on set in April this year and that she is strong enough to do what she loves again.

Zandile Msutwana has played the character of the feisty Vuyiswa Maake since the show’s inception.

Thembisa Mdoda pregnant

Thembisa Mdoda who temporarily replaced Zandile Msutwana on The Queen revealed her pregnancy on Instagram a day ago.

The media personality surprised her followers when she captioned her baby bump picture with: “Don’t ask the question. The answer is yes.”

She is currently a co-host on Mzansi Magic’s Pan-African singing competition reality television series, Old Mutual Amazing Voices.

‘THE QUEEN’ FANS ON THEMBISA MDODA

News of Msutwana’s return was well received with fans welcoming her back on Twitter, as well as “updating” her on the current storyline!

Mdoda — who is no stranger to our screens, has appeared on UnmarriedIsibaya and Baby Mamas — wasn’t well received by the majority of The Queen‘s viewers.

Mdoda was compared to Msutwana constantly by some fans who felt that she’s “too soft” and wasn’t doing justice to the character.

Is the timing of Mdoda’s pregnancy announcement and Msutwana’s full recovery a coincidence?

KEKE MPHUTHI’S PREGNANCY ORDEAL

In 2019, actress Keke Mphuthi spoke about the alleged trauma she suffered at the hands of Ferguson Films when she fell pregnant.

The actress, who played the character of Princess Dipuo on The Throne, alleged that she was fired in 2019 from The Throne because of her pregnancy.

She said the following on Twitter at the time:

“…y’all don’t even know half the trauma I went through because of the Fergusons.

Because I was pregnant and even before then I was earning below minimum on two PRODUCTIONS I PLAYED LEAD.

The I find out they trying to get me blacklisted.”

Ferguson Films is Shona and Connie Ferguson’s production house which produces The Queen, Rockville and The Throne. Ferguson Films labelled Mphuthi’s allegations “slanderous” and “false” at the time.
