Kaizer Chiefs reward striker with a new CONTRACT!

Kaizer Chiefs have rewarded their striker with a new contract which sees him extends his stay in Naturna to atleast 2027.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at Naturena until 2027.

The 27-year-old has recently been rejuvenated in the second half of the season. Du Preez was believed to have been wanted by several European teams especially during pre-season, but it seems Amakhosi have managed to convince the quick striker to stay.

Having made his name at Stellenbosch FC, Du Preez joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2023. Since his arrival, he has scored 19 goals in 75 matches in all competitions. Speaking to iDiski Times, the Chiefs star said his goal was to give back to the club.

“To be honest I’ve heard that they are going to renew my contract,” answered Du Preez when asked for reaction by iDiski Times.

“They trust in me. So, for me as a player is to give back to them, you know to give back to the club and to work on getting a better contract as a player.”

“So, for me is to give back to the club.”

With the arrival of Nasreddine Nabi, Du Preez has struggled for gametime earlier this season. The Tunisian coach opted to start with Ranga Chivaviro upfront with the ex-Stellies man appearing from the bench on occasions.

With Ranga misfiring, Du Preez has been the go-to man and often has given satisfactory performances for Kaizer Chiefs. With Tashreeq Morris and Wandile Duba returning back to action soon, it remains to be seen if Du Preez can keep his place or appear regularly from the bench.
