Kelly Khumalo’s lawyer, Advocate Magdalene Moonsamy says they want to know who the eyewitness the court was told about is.
Singer Kelly Khumalo’s lawyer, Advocate Magdalene Moonsamy says they can’t wait to see the crucial eyewitness the Pretoria High Court was told will testify against her client.
On Wednesday, defence lawyer Advocate Teffo Malesela made a startling statement and said that an eyewitness will testify that Khumalo allegedly shot Meyiwa by mistake.
KELLY KHUMALO’S LAWYER WEIGHS IN ON DEFENCE’S ‘EYEWITNESS’
In an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Moonsamy said they will be taking legal action on the allegations levelled in court.
“We have remained quiet for too long allowing the law to take its course We will have a consultation and decide on the way forward.”
Moonsamy said Khumalo is prejudiced in the public eye.
“The difficulty that we face is that when you are under constant scrutiny of the public in a manner in which you are becoming a scapegoat for the defence, the same defence who was a watching brief for the family of the deceased. We cannot wait to hear that eyewitness,” the lawyer said.
Moonsamy also added that the accused who are in the dock have not been brought before those who were in the house the night Meyiwa was murdered so they can identify them.
“The accused were identified by the police, they were never identified by those in the house,” she said.
WHO COULD BE THE EYEWITNESS?
Advocate Teffo said the same eyewitness will testify that the gun that Kelly used to shoot Meyiwa was brought by music producer, Sello “Chicco” Twala’s son, Longwe.
Just hours after court proceedings concluded on Wednesday, Kelly’s sister who is also a singer, Zandile released a single with cryptic lyrics. Zandile was also in the house the night Meyiwa was murdered. She is also named as one of the accused in the State’s case on the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.
