Following the alleged theft, The Kifness took to social media to apologise to fans who had already bought tickets and to share that they can get their refunds at the point of purchase.

“I’m very sorry to inform my fans in Detroit that tonight’s show has been cancelled due to gear being stolen out of our van.

Between getting a new van, new equipment, police reports, we just don’t have enough time to get the show ready. Refunds available at point of purchase,” he wrote on X.

South African fans felt sorry for The Kiffness and some jokingly asked if he is not in Mzansi given the high rate of crime in the country.

“You must feel right at home then. I am sorry that this happened to you though,” @Queenbadegg commented.

“Sorry for the horrible experience. Crime is a global challenge. Let me know if you need assistance from the South African embassy in Washington,” Head of Public Diplomacy in the Department of International Relations and Cooperation Clayson Monyela commented too.
