‘Big one’

De Kock seizes every available opportunity to take a break from wearing the gloves to get out his fishing rod in the hopes of landing his next ‘big one’.

And that’s exactly what the 32-year-old did while in Angola recently.

Taking to his Instagram page on Monday, De Kock wrote: “Just came back from another amazing fishing adventure in Angola , Another world class fishery on African shores where fish know how to strip line off your reel.”

As reported by The South African website, De Kock sensationally quit the Test arena in late 2021 and hung up his ODI bat after the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India.

His last T20I came in late June 2024.

De Kock has played a total 54 Tests, 155 ODIs and 92 T20Is for South Africa.

De Kock played in this year’s SA20 tournament, but had a forgettable time at the crease, scoring just 159 runs in eight innings for the Joburg Super Kings.

The Joburg Super Kings finished fourth in the six-team tournament.
