Nabi apologises to Chiefs fans for their league position
Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has apologised to the Amakhosi supporters for their position in the Betway Premiership.

Nasreddine Nabi watched as Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership last weekend. This result left them unchanged in 8th position on the league table.
Head coach Nabi is acutely aware that this is a far cry from what has made Amakhosi the most supported team in the PSL.
“I would like to pass a message to the fans and apologise to them for where we are at the moment on the log standings,” he told the press.
“It doesn’t reflect the performances we have been having. We are working hard, and we want to assure the supporters this is a temporary thing.
“We are feeling the improvement of the players in these big games where they show character and good mindset.
“It’s only the small things that could have made the difference in those big games. Don’t panic.” Coach Nabi stated.
Despite their second consecutive defeat, which left them perilously in 8th place in the league standings, Nasreddine Nabi has urged calm among the Amakhosi faithful.
COACH NABI INSISTS THERE IS A PROCESS UNDERWAY AT KAIZER CHIEFS
To attain their desired levels, Amakhosi must enhance both their squad depth and quality. Unfortunately, this process necessitates several transfer windows to achieve, implying that the coaching staff must maximise the potential of the current crop of players.
kaizer Chiefs are now an astonishing ten years into their trophy drought since last winning the league title in 2015 under the guidance of Stuart Baxter.
“It is the mindset we must have and be consistent. We need to take this performance against Sundowns into the next matches.
“When you play these big clubs, sometimes the result is not good, and critics are harsh on the players. We have to encourage players so that they are in the right mindset and also work on the tactics of the game.
“We believe these players can do it, they just need to be supported because mistakes can happen to anyone, including the technical staff. The coach can be criticised and that comes with the job, but the fans of Chiefs need to be careful because this is a process that is going on.
“It’s been 10 years where things have been going forward and coming back to zero. Sometimes, there are people who don’t want this process to arrive at its destination — they criticise the coach, so he gets fired and the process start from zero again.” He stated.
Kaizer Chiefs have shown they can deliver strong performances against top teams but have struggled to maintain consistency against lower-ranked opponents. This inconsistency has troubled them throughout the season, to the frustration of coach Nabi.
With the Nedbank Cup, as their only remaining hope for silverware, can Kaizer Chiefs overcome Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns to claim the trophy?
