Stormers director of rugby John Dobson has addressed rumors regarding Siya Kolisi’s potential return to the Cape Town-based team.

Recent reports have indicated that the Springbok captain is considering a move back to Cape Town, where he began his career. The 33-year-old flanker currently plays for the Sharks but is reportedly seeking a transfer to be closer to his children following his divorce from his wife, Rachel.

“It’s out there that Siya would be interested in a move back and it’s something we’d entertain, but he’s under contract with the Sharks,” Dobson told the media.

“The first conversation is – if Siya would like to join us – that would be something between him and the Sharks; he’s got a contract there that we respect.”

He is a quality guy, a great leader. He’s a great player with a long history at the Stormers,” he said as per Planet Rugby.

Siya Kolisi will lead the Sharks team to play the Stormers in a United Rugby Championship match in Cape Town on Saturday.

The Durban outfit will welcome back key players for the URC clash.

“For us, this week was about getting a few bodies back for this match,” said head coach John Plumtree. “We had eight forwards out from the pack against the Bulls but the nice thing about coming back from England and getting a win against them is that the boys will go into this game with a bit of confidence.

“Going down to Cape Town and beating the Stormers isn’t an easy task, but we’re looking forward to it.”

All eyes will be on Siya Kolisi as he looks to prove a point to the Stormers.

Should Siya move back to Cape Town or stay in Durban?
