CAF Confed Cup quarterfinal draw: Stellies handed African giants
Stellies have had an impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup this season, and they will fancy their chances against these African giants.
The draw for the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal was conducted on Thursday, 20 February in Doha, Qatar.
Stellenbosch FC are the only South African team remaining in the quarterfinals, and they have now learned their opponents.
Steve Barker’s side was pitted against African giants Zamalek of Egypt in the quarterfinals.
Zamalek are the two-time winners of the CAF Confederation Cup having lifted the trophy in 2019 and again in 2024.
There is no doubt that this will be a true test of character for Stellies who are in the quarterfinals for the first time ever.
Nonetheless, reaching the knockout stages of any continental tournament is regarded as a huge success, especially for a young team such as Stellies.
