Kaizer Chiefs F.C. will play three home games at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium this season.

The Soweto Giants are extending their annual streak of playing in Kwa-Zulu Natal as the home side between December and January.

So, who will they play?

Upcoming Durban fixtures

  • Kaizer Chiefs vs Chippa United (Dec 29, 17:30)
  • Kaizer Chiefs vs Golden Arrows (Jan 12, 15:30)
  • Kaizer Chiefs vs Sekhukhune United (Jan 19, 15:30)

Kaizer Chiefs new regime

Having finished last season in tenth position, they not only missed the MTN8 cup cut but also decided to part ways with former manager Cavin Johnson, making it three sackings in two years.

This time, they’ve found what they were looking for.

Enter Nabi Nasreddine, a Tunisian tactician who has seemingly revolutionised the Chiefs in just three games.

Yes, it’s too soon to say whether he will be another hire-fire scenario or if this is just the beginning.

But what’s certain is that the Glamour Boys are playing positive football again, with stars all over the pitch, from new signing Inacio Miguel to attackers Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Ranga Chivaviro.

Upcoming league fixtures

  • SuperSport United vs Kaizer Chiefs (Oct 26, 17:30)
  • Magesi FC vs Kaizer Chiefs (Oct 30, 19:00)
  • Kaizer Chiefs vs Royal AM FC (Nov 9, 17:30

High praise for coach Nabi

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Peterson gave an insight into the club’s new leader, saying, “He Is a coach with principles. He Is a coach that wants you to do what he expects you to do. And he won’t expect you to do something that you can’t do,

“He knows the quality we have at Chiefs and he knows each and every player and what he’s capable of. So for me, it’s the fact of trying to bring that out of a player. And, when it’s time to work, it’s time to work. He’ll be shouting, he’ll be grinding us, but as you can see, it’s paying dividends on the field.

“There’s time to joke, there’s time to have a good time, but when it’s working, it’s about working. And I think the switch up we made as players, it’s a fine line between going out and having fun and when it’s time to work.

“That’s the important thing for us this season, we look like we’re getting it right. It’s making that switch up; when it comes to working, we’re working.”

Do you think Kaizer Chiefs will win the PSL?
