Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has touched on Ranga Chivaviro‘s struggles this season.

The 32-year-old striker started the season well, scoring twice in his first three matches but has since failed to replicate his form. In Amakhosi‘s last six matches, the big striker has started on the bench only managing to find the net once.

Youssef revealed that Kaizer Chiefs were working on getting the ex-Marumo Gallants star back to form.

“Ranga is a striker, and a striker’s life is you have to score,” Youssef said as per iDiski Times.

“He started the league very well, he scored four goals. After that, there was a little drop.”

“Now, we are working and always trying to make individual sessions for him. For sure, he had a big opportunity to score but he was unlucky.

“He chose to take it with his left foot, maybe if he took it with his right foot it would be easier.

“It’s a decision, as a striker he has to take a decision. We work inside, we try to fix it.”

Kaizer Chiefs have failed to finish off games and often end up drawing or even on the losing side. Ashley Du Preez and Chivaviro have scored just five goals between them this season.

“It’s like that in football, when you have the opportunity you have to use the opportunity to score. If you don’t score, you are in risk of conceding the goal,” Youssef added.

Kaizer Chiefs are in action this weekend against Sekhukhune United.
