Kaizer Chiefs coach was out of action during his sides 1-0 win over fourth-placed Sekhukhune United due to a two-match suspension he picked up against Golden Arrows.

It was after the final whistle when Nabi got shown the red card, marching up to referee Olani Kwinda in a heated exchange that was primarily one-sided.

With the Soweto Derby a week away, AmaKhosi should be thankful for their Nedbank Cup success, which has them playing lower-league side Free Agents on January 26, allowing Nabi to serve his two-match ban before facing a rumbling Orlando Pirates on February 1.

It will be Nabi’s first encounter against Jose Riveiro. Grab your popcorn; this has all the ingredients to be a classic.

Nabi exit imminent?

The Kaizer Chiefs coach will be relieved to be back on the sideline against the Buccaneers amid growing speculation that some of AmaKhosi’s management believe they hired the wrong man.

“There was a meeting just like after every game to analyse what went wrong against Golden Arrows but the issue of the coach (Nabi) was then discussed,

“Yes, there were two groups of minds. One saying they should give him games to prove himself before the end of the season and if he fails in those games then they part ways.

“While the other side still believes that he needs time to turn the fortunes around. That side believes he has brought some positivity to the team (Chiefs).”

The Glamour Boys lie six points behind Orlando Pirates, who have three games in hand and are in contention for the title.

Can Kaizer Chiefs prevail?
