KAIZER CHIEFS NEW WINGER MAKABI LILEPO: THE INTRODUCTION

Lilepo was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on 27 July 1997. He is 27 years old.

He is a versatile attacker who plays both as a right winger and a left winger but can also play high up as a false-9.

Lilepo kicked started his youth career at AS Vita in the DRC before being promoted to the first team in 2019.

However, he was subsequently loaned out to Mbabane Swallows in order for him to grow as a player.

Lilepo had a short stint with Swallows, and returned home to join FC Renaissance between 2019 and 2020.

In 2020, the winger returned to boyhood club AS Vita Club where he represented them for two seasons.

Lilepo then caught the eye of Sudanese giants Al-Hilal Club in 2022, and he joined them for the 2022-23 campaign.

In 2023, Lilepo got his European breakthrough as he joined French third-tier side Valenciennes.

But during his football journey the said clubs, Lilepo did enough to earn a place in the DRC senior national team.

He earned his first cap on 21 January 2021. Lilepo has gone on to make 11 international appearances with the DRC national team and has a goal to his name.

At Valenciennes, Lilepo scored seven goals, provided five assists in 46 official appearances as per Transfermarkt.

Here in Africa while playing for AS Vita Club, the winger scored three goals in eight CAF Champions League matches while he scored five in 10 games for Al-Hilal in the same competition.
