Chiefs’ Zwane slams kasi football: It’s a circus
Some people love showboating in SA. Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is not one of them. He says football is business.
Kaizer Chiefs fans who enjoy a bit of showboating are in for a disappointment. Coach Arthur Zwane is not a fan of what he calls a circus.

According to the former winger, South African football will simply go nowhere if the public will continue to encourage youngsters to showboat.

“If people in our country think flair is when you kneel down, wasting time and not eliminating people then that is not flair, that’s circus.
“We have so much talented players in this country but I don’t think we are guiding them properly. I don’t think we are doing any justice to help the game grow, as much as we love the game,” he added.

BASKETBALL COMPARISON
The man known as “10111” continued to liken showboating to basketball freestyling in America, where freestyle players are not recognised as professional – and the PSL should do likewise.
“In America they tell you straight that those freestyle players can’t compete at the highest level in that league [NBA].
“Why? Because they’re freestyle players. We need to accept kasi football will never be close to DStv football. DStv football is business.

“It is business because some of the players need to go and represent our national team.
“Our ladies [Banyana Banyana] just recently made us proud. Did you see any of those players kneeling on the ball wasting time? But the entire country is happy today.
“Why? Because they went there for business. So we need to teach our players that football is business today.
