Kaizer Chiefs are facing a challenging fixtures after their recent narrow defeat to rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.

This past Saturday, Amakhosi lost 1-0 to the Buccaneers at a packed FNB Stadium, with a late penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi securing three points for the Sea Robbers in their title pursuit.

Kaizer Chiefs have some tough fixtures coming up

For Kaizer Chiefs, it’s time to regroup. Currently, the Glamour Boys sit in fifth place in the Betway Premiership after playing 15 matches this season. Under the guidance of new coach Nasreddine Nabi, the team has shown signs of improvement but has struggled with consistency in their quest for the league title.

With 15 matches left to play, third place is still within reach for Khosination, but they will need to win more than half of these games to secure a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Here are Kaizer Chiefs’ next four fixtures:

AmaZulu (4 February)

AmaZulu has had a tough season and, on paper, seems to pose little threat to Chiefs. Amakhosi are expected to win this match convincingly.

Stellenbosch (7 February)

Stellenbosch has also had a disappointing season, currently sitting in sixth place on the log. In the first round, Chiefs defeated Stellies, despite being the underdogs in that match. Out of all the fixtures, this one could be the most challenging for Kaizer Chiefs. They have to play AmaZulu on Tuesday, then fly to Cape Town to battle Stellies.

SuperSport United (18 February)

This match holds significance as the two teams have unfinished business; they have each won one of their previous encounters this season.

Mamelodi Sundowns (1 March)

After facing Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs have a string of matches that appear more winnable. However, Amakhosi have already lost two matches to Downs this season and risk facing another disappointing defeat if they do not address their defensive issues.

Kaizer Chiefs have six league defeats but with SuperSport, Sundowns and Stellies in their next fixtures, more defeats could come.
