Will Pirates have Saleng in the Soweto Derby?

Monnapule Saleng was instrumental in Orlando Pirates’ last outing against Kaizer Chiefs, scoring a brace that sealed the victory. Early signs suggest he will not be featured in the upcoming Soweto Derby.

“Saleng has also been accused of being a divisive figure with his punctuality in the weeks leading up to his return to the (Pirates) XI when they faced Al Ahly,” a source confirmed.

“However, he has since returned to the stands and separate sources have stated that should clubs be interested, his price tag would be in excess of R15 million.”

Another forward-thinking player on the verge of leaving (on loan) is DR Congo’s Karim Kimvuidi:

“It’s like this because they don’t want him to just sit on the bench or in stands for a long time,” said SoccerLaduma.

“He is still young and he needs to keep on playing and a loan move would give him that chance. No, I can’t say there is a team but Pirates want to loan him out so that he gets more game-time.

“At the moment, they wouldn’t want to sell him permanently. It’s just to give him more game-time. He has one and half years still on his contract and they can’t just let him go like that. After all, you should know that he is still young and he has a great future ahead of him and that’s why they invested in and the loan move would help him grow as a player.”
