Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns will battle to sign one of the most exciting talents in the county this winter.

Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns circle Moremi

“As of now we can say that Tshepang (Moremi) is the most wanted player at the club. Mamelodi Sundowns have already made an official offer though it seems they will have it tough from rivals Orlando Pirates and now Kaizer Chiefs have also made inquiries about him,” the report read on SoccerLaduma.

Who is Tshepang Moremi?

23-year-old AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi isn’t the most prolific player. He’s got only two goals this season, but he has been a bear ever-present for Usuthu, making 28 appearances in the league. That level of durability is an important commodity. His goal-shyness doesn’t mean he’s not a gifted player though. His overall performances this term have alerted Bafana Bafana boss Hugo Broos, who named him in a 36-man preliminary squad. According to the AmaZulu website, Moremi has had loan spells at Bizana Pondo Chiefs and JDR Stars in the National First Division to gain experience.

His motivational quote?

“Every day is a chance to get better, don’t waste it.”

Mofokeng headlines Orlando Pirates Bafana call-ups

Defenders Tapelo Xoki, Thabiso Monyane, Innocent Maela and Nkosinathi Sibisi join attackers Evidence Makgopa, Patrick Maswanganyi and teenager Relebohile Mofokeng. Mofokeng’s maiden call-up has been celebrated by many quarters on social media. The youngster has three goals and five assists in the league this season. That form has alerted suitors in Scotland, Austria and Egypt. 15-goal Tshegofatso Mabasa, strangely, is not in the group.

FINAL DAY FIXTURES IN THE MTN8 RACE

Maremi will be hoping to steer his side into next season’s MTN8 when they face Golden Arrows on the final day of the campaign. Usuthu can claim a top right finish if they win and haul in the goal difference to Kaizer Chiefs, who are in action against already-relegated Cape Town Spurs. If both sides win, they’ll have to be separated on goal difference. Polokwane City can also enter the equation as they, AmaZulu and Chiefs all have 36 points going into the final Saturday.

  • Polokwane City vs TS Galaxy
  • Cape Town Spurs vs Kaizer Chiefs
  • Chippa vs Sekhukhune
  • AmaZulu vs Golden Arrows

All games kick off at 15:00 on Saturday 25 May.
