Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring AmaZulu sensation Tshepang Moremi amid Pirates and Sundowns interest.

The 24-year-old winger, known for his versatility and raw pace, is usually uSuthu’s most lively playmaker with a third-best six league assists.

According to transfermarkt, Moremi has a market value of around R7 million, which Kaizer Chiefs will surely have to match as AmaZulu are said to be reluctant to let their rising star go.

“For now, what we can tell you is that Chiefs are set to table an offer for Tshepang (Moremi),” a source revealed.

“They are serious about him and that’s why they want to table this offer for him. The team is looking at restructuring for next season, and Moremi is one of the players they are looking at bringing in,”

“There has been interest in Tshepang, and it’s not only from Chiefs or Pirates. Mamelodi Sundowns are also believed to be interested in him. However, the issue will be with AmaZulu, as they are not ready to release him unless the money is too good. You should know that AmaZulu also pay very well at the moment,

“So, it’s all up to AmaZulu even if Chiefs table the offer.”

Nabi scrutiny

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi would have felt a sigh of relief following his sides injury-time heroics in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final two days ago.

Following Inacio Miguel’s first-half penalty, Stellenbosch forward Andre de Jong levelled the game in the 86th minute. Extra-time looked likely until Pule Mmodi converted a scrappy rebound in the Maroons box, sending the AmaKhosi faithful into mayhem. Six minutes later Mfundo Vilakazi put the game to bed. Final score: 3-1.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Nabi, who, according to reports, is under serious Kaizer Chiefs scrutiny with some executives calling for his exit – a Nedbank title would certainly cement his posting.

“It’s getting hard and tougher for the management team now,” SoccerLaduma reported

“It’s believed that they thought by now the results would have started to show as the coach came with high expectations, but things are not working according to plan,

“Apparently, that’s what is not making them happy. They don’t just want the team to play well. No. They want results and so far they have lost to the all so-called big teams.”
