Kaizer Chiefs season hits a low point leaving fans divided on Nabi
Chiefs’ season hangs in the balance after another defeat, with coach Nabi banking on the international break but will fans remain patient?

Kaizer Chiefs season hits a low point leaving fans divided on coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Nabi is counting on the international break to fix the team’s glaring issues after Chiefs suffered their ninth defeat of the season. Amakhosi fell 2-0 to Richards Bay at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, keeping them stuck in eighth place on the Betway Premiership standings with only eight matches remaining.
Chiefs’ poor form raises concerns
Amakhosi’s recent form is worrying, with just one win in their last five league matches. Scoring has been a major issue, with only two goals in their last five games. The team’s struggles in front of goal have been a major talking point, and Nabi acknowledges the need for improvement.
“I think we play games every three days, and there is not really much you can work on when you play every three days. It’s true that we have been struggling in that area, and we hope that with the international break, we can work on certain things,” Nabi said via his interpreter Cedric Kaze after the defeat.
Attacking woes: Will Chiefs sign a striker?
Wasting chances has been a recurring problem for Chiefs, leading to speculation about whether the club will sign a new striker. When asked if a number nine is on his wish list, Nabi remained cautious.
“I think the answer to that question will come at the end of the season after assessing the squad and what it needs,” he said.
Nabi has emphasized that turning Chiefs into a title-contending team is a long-term process.
“We are in the process of rebuilding, and a big team like Chiefs is not built in six or seven months. You need more time than that. We know exactly what we need to have a better team,” he explained in the post-match press conference.
What’s next for Amakhosi?
With time running out to salvage the season, the upcoming international break will be crucial for Chiefs to regroup and refine their strategies. Their next league match is set for March 30 against Lamontville Golden Arrows. A must-win fixture if they hope to turn things around.
Can Kaizer Chiefs bounce back and finish the season strong? Fans will be hoping this break provides the reset the team desperately needs. But will they turn on Nabi or continue to support him?
