Kaizer Chiefs are set to boost their transfer budget to R80 million, according to Soccer Laduma.

Kaizer Chiefs are making a bold statement in the transfer market, reportedly increasing their budget for the upcoming season. This marks a significant jump from last season’s initial R50 million allocation, which was later increased to R60 million during the January transfer window.

Chiefs target quality over quantity in key positions

A well-placed source has confirmed that Amakhosi have committed to this expanded budget for the winter transfer window, with the possibility of adjustments in January if additional reinforcements are needed for 2026.

“It’s believed that the club has already come up with the budget for next season, and it’s believed to be R80 million. You know last season they started with R50 million, which they raised to R60 million in the January transfer window, and that means they are raising it up by R20 million. It’s because they are looking at signing quality with most of the players that they are targeting. So their intentions are really looking good with the new budget,” the source revealed.

Five key signings on the radar

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly targeting four to five signings to reinforce crucial areas of their squad. The focus is on securing a goalkeeper, left-back, winger, central midfielder, and a striker. An additional signing in another key position could be considered based on technical team recommendations.

“They have identified the areas of the players they need to sign, and they are believed to be looking at signing at least four to five players. They are looking at a goalkeeper, left-back, winger, central midfielder, and a striker, plus another one in a position or area the technical team will decide. So it’s a good budget if you look at it from that perspective,” the source added.

Who could be joining Amakhosi?

Several high-profile players have already been linked with a move to Naturena. Among the names circulating are:

  • Xolani Ngcobo (Goalkeeper)
  • Fawaaz Basadien (Left-back)
  • Lungelo Bhengu (Right-back)
  • Neo Maema (Midfielder)
  • Feisal Salum (Midfielder)
  • Fiston Mayele (Striker)

With Kaizer Chiefs preparing to make a strong statement in the transfer window, fans can expect exciting moves as the club looks to build a squad capable of challenging for top honours.
