Kaizer Chiefs target back in the market after leaving Russia!
Kaizer Chiefs attempted to sign the South African Olympian on a number of occasions but this could be their biggest chance yet.
Kaizer Chiefs target Thabo Cele is officially a free agent after his request to be released from his contract was accepted.
Cele had been on the books of Russian outfit FC Fakel Voronezh; the club he played for since the start of last season.
According to a statement released by FC Fakel Voronezh, Cele cited health family issues as the reason for wanting to leave.
And the club could not stand in his way, and the central midfielder is now available to South African clubs again.
Cele, now 28, is a well-traveled player who never played PSL football before, and should any of the local teams sign him, it would be his first.
He kicked started his professional career at Real Sport Clube in Portugal in 2016 before joining Benfica a year later.
Cele’s longest stint at a single club came between 2018 and 2021 whilst on the books of Portuguese side CD da Cova da Piedade.
He made over 70 official appearances for them before moving to Poland to put yen to paper with Radomiak.

“Due to serious health problems in the family, the midfielder and the club terminated the contract,” the club said on their website.
“According to the agreement between Cele and the club, the footballer will only be able to play for teams from South Africa until the end of the current contract.
“We wish the player good luck in his future career, and health to Cele’s family. All the best to you, Thabo!”
