Kaizer Chiefs seem to have found an alternative to Fawaaz Basadien as they target a new left-back target during the current window
Kaizer Chiefs are clearly looking to leave no stone unturned in the current transfer window according to the latest!
Chiefs find themselves in sixth place in the Betway Premiership, needing recruitment to help change their fortunes in 2025.
Chiefs looking to make signings
Last week was filled with news that points at them working overtime in order to get things right. There were reports of talks and bids going in for some of the club and coach Nasreddine Nabi’s top targets. That will sound like music to the ears of Chiefs supporters who, like their coach have been crying out for years about quality signings. Just this week alone, there has been movement in several pursuits from the Amakhosi camp.
Chiefs are now poised to make the signing of SuperSport United striker Tashreeq Morris. This will then see Christian Saile move in the opposite direction. But that may not be the only signing that Amakhosi could pull off this window. According to Soccer-Laduma, the club are looking to strengthen their left-back ranks too. Their new target now being Samukelo Kabini of TS Galaxy.
Kabini from Galaxy a target
“Interest has been shown in Samukelo Kabini by Kaizer Chiefs. There have been talks about it although there isn’t anything official at the moment. But Kabini could be the next player from TS Galaxy to leave after Thato Khiba’s move to Stellenbosch,” said the source.
Chiefs have also been linked with Richard Bay FC’s Sandile Mabuya too, who is a right-back. This hints at a desire from the club to improve their options in defence, especially in the full back areas. At right-back Amakhosi have Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomons and Njabulo Blom, as options as it stands. Then at left they are thinner with just Bradley Cross and Bongani Sam the more natural options. Kabini would most likely provide more competition to Cross than Sam who doesn’t seem fancied by Nabi.
Chiefs fans do you think the club needs to sign Kabini? Or do you have enough left-sided defenders? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below!
