Kaizer Chiefs could be looking as far as Europe in their bid to strengthen their squad for 2025.

Chiefs are currently struggling to kick on this season with the team now languishing in seventh position on the log.

There was a lot of optimism after the appointment of Nasreddine Nabi at the start of the season. This because the Tunisian mentor came with a big reputation and there was hope he would improve the side. Chiefs also invested in seven signings during the previous window but none have stood out consistently.

Chiefs looking to bolster their squad in January

This has led to calls from Nabi saying he needs more players of the quality required to play for Chiefs. According to widespread reports the club are set to attack the January transfer window in that regard. Now Soccer-Laduma reports that they are targeting Luke Le Roux to boost their midfield.

“Some of the new interest from the club is coming after failing to get their original targets like Oswin Appollis and also Tshepang Moremi from AmaZulu and that is why they are now looking at Luke Le Roux. They are really looking at boosting their midfield whether with a winger or a number 10 and Le Roux is one of the players they are looking at. It’s all about the scouts and recruiters who suggest these players to the technical team as well as management,” said one source.

A second source pointed at the historical prowess of Chiefs in the bringing players back from Europe. Le Roux could be the next.

Chiefs targeting Le Roux?

“Even if we say they have the money to bring him back home like they did in the past with players like Bernard Parker, Tshepo Masilela or even Keagan Dolly, it will all depend on the player (Le Roux) himself whether he wants to come back home or not. It will be interesting to see what happens with him in January and Chiefs are crossing their fingers to at least sign a player that both management and the technical team agree upon,” said the second source.

Chiefs fans, would Le Roux be a great signing? Feel free to leave your comments and feelings below.
