Kaizer Chiefs supporters have not heard from the Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, for a while.

KAIZER CHIEFS WORKING ON NEW TRANSFER DEALS

It’s been 16 days since the Premier Soccer League opened the transfer window, which closes on the 28th. Kaizer Chiefs have yet to complete a single signing. What’s going on behind the scenes? “I’d be foolish for us to not be doing anything in this window,” Motaung Jr said, as quoted by the Sowetan. “We respect the players that we do have but we are aware of the areas we need to strengthen. I don’t want to make excuses and say, ‘It’s a tough window, clubs don’t want to release players’.

“Whether it is Jan or June, it’s the same… clubs always want to have their best players [but] you must negotiate and you must identify and close deals, that’s our responsibility. Having said that offensively is the area we want to bolster since the beginning of the season.

“We’re engaging with many clubs, with many players but it’s disrespectful to come out and speak about other clubs’ players. I know people want to know information and progress and we’d love to share that but we respect our colleagues from other clubs,” the Kaizer Chiefs SD concluded.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO PART WAYS WITH ZITHA KWINIKA?

Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika is facing an uncertain future at Amakhosi.

The 31-year-old defender made a headline move to Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in June 2022. It was a return to his development team for the Soweto-born player. Despite decent game time under previous Kaizer Chiefs coaches Arthur Zwane, Molefe Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, Kwinika has not started a single competitive match under Nasreddine Nabi. According to Soccer Laduma, Kwinika is keen on a loan move until his contract with Kaizer Chiefs expires in June.

“Sources close to the player suggest that a loan move is the most likely option, allowing him to secure regular playing time elsewhere,” the outlet reported. “There is reported interest in Kwinika from clubs in Polokwane and KwaZulu-Natal, though the specifics of these potential moves remain unclear.”

SHOULD THE CLUB KEEP HIM?
