Orlando Pirates are keen to sign a well-known and widely respected striker from their PSL rivals.

Orlando Pirates are interested in securing the signature of a striker who plays for their PSL rivals.

Meanwhile, rivals Kaizer Chiefs have just made a R9.6 million offer for this international star. Meaning, both Amakhosi and the Bucs are planning to secure players before the end of the January PSL transfer window.

PIRATES MONITORING STRIKER FROM PSL RIVALS

Pirates have just booked their spot in the quarter finals of the CAF Champions League.

However, this does not mean they are fully satisfied with their squad. In fact, they are now monitoring Richards Bay striker, Yanela Mbuthuma.

“Pirates are very interested in Yanela Mbuthuma of Richards Bay as he has continued to impress with his high work-rate. He is a player that Pirates would like to add to their squad that is already doing well for the team to continue achieving,” the report read on SoccerLaduma.

Moreover, the Bucs have the likes of Patrick ‘Tito” Maswanganyi, Tshegofatso Mabaso, Evidence Makgopa and Relobohile Mofokeng on attack. However, Bucs management wants to build even more squad depth moving forward.

STUMBLING BLOCKS FOR BUCS BID

Pirates are unlikely to lure Mbuthuma to Mayfair this January.

This is because Richards Bay currently have plans for their striker.

“But it will be difficult to get the player now in January as Richards Bay are having plans of their own about him. He is in the plans for the club in the fight against relegation. The club is unlikely to entertain any offers for the boy at this stage,” the same publication continues.

Therefore, Pirates are unlikely to sign him during the current January transfer window. So, they will likely re-visit interest in the Richards Bay attacker when the season commences.

SHOULD ORLANDO PIRATES SIGN MBUTHUMA AND SHOULD THEY BRING IN MORE STRIKERS OR ATTACKERS?
