Orlando Pirates: New Zim striker to replace Lepasa and Mabasa?

Orlando Pirates are reportedly eyeing a Zimbabwean striker who recently joined the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Orlando Pirates are reportedly monitoring Marumo Gallants striker Junior Zindoga.

The Zimbabwean striker joined the Premier Soccer League in January and only scored one goal. According to Soccer Laduma, Zindoga has caught the eye of the Buccaneers and it remains to be seen if he can be a player they need upfront.

Orlando Pirates have Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa upfront, but nether of the two strikers managed to bang 10 league goals this season. Mabasa was instrumental last season, winning the PSL Golden Boot, but this campaign, the goals have been hard to come by.

Orlando Pirates to bring new striker

“The boy has been impressive, and Pirates are one of the clubs monitoring him. His physical presence upfront and his high work rate have made him stand out,” a source revealed to Soccer Laduma.

Orlando Pirates are set to part ways with striker Zakhele Lepasa at the end of the season. The 27-year-old has not featured at all this season and is likely to stay at the end of this campaign. Another striker set to leave Orlando Pirates is Mabasa.

According to Soccer Beat’s Peter du Toit, the Bucs hitman could move to the Middle East, having reportedly received offers. He has a few months left in his contract and could choose not to renew.
