Orlando Pirates striker: Lepasa stays while Radiopane faces exit?
Pirates are set to revamp their attacking line up by retaining Lepasa while considering the exit of Radiopane to make room.

Orlando Pirates have made the decision to keep striker Zakhele Lepasa for at least another year, a move that will inevitably reshape their attacking line up. With Lepasa remaining in the squad and the club actively pursuing a new striker, Pirates must now clear space by offloading another forward. Club officials are assessing their options to ensure a balanced and competitive attacking unit.
Radiopane likely to Be loaned or released
Boitumelo Radiopane faces an uncertain future at Orlando Pirates as the club prepares for a major attacking revamp. He has struggled to secure consistent game time, falling behind emerging talents like Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota in the pecking order. In response, Pirates are actively weighing their options, considering whether to loan him out for another season or release him entirely to free up space in the squad.
“The player who could be affected by Zakhele (Lepasa) staying at the club is another striker, Boitumelo (Radiopane). The club is looking at loaning him out again. It’s tough for Radiopane as he has been given the chance to play and prove himself, but things haven’t worked out as planned,” a source confirmed.
Pirates eyeing new Strikers for competition
Pirates are not settling with just keeping Lepasa; they are aggressively searching for additional striking talent. Club scouts have already pinpointed potential signings, including Yanele Mbhuthuma from Richards Bay, highlighting their commitment to reinforcing the squad. By adding another quality forward, Pirates aim to create intense competition among their strikers, pushing the squad to higher performance levels.
“Yes, the club is planning on bringing in another striker, and they have already identified some options, including (Yanele) Mbhuthuma. That’s why they want to loan out Radiopane or release him. They want strikers who will compete among each other next season,” the source added.
What’s next for Radiopane?
Pirates are determined to build a competitive attack, making Radiopane’s future at the club increasingly uncertain. If he leaves, the club will have the opportunity to introduce a fresh face to their frontline. This decision could bring in a more dynamic and goal-hungry player to elevate the team’s performance. The next few weeks will be pivotal in shaping the squad for the upcoming season. As Pirates finalise their striking options and make strategic adjustments to maximize their attacking strength.
