The 2024/25 PSL season is entering its final third, and Mamelodi Sundowns is creeping ever closer to a historic eighth successive title.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, desperate to be the ones who overcome Sundowns’ supremacy, are gearing up for a busy offseason.

Big names on the move?

  • Kaizer Chiefs are considering Young Africans striker Prince Dube over long-time targets Michael Olunga and Fiston Mayele.
  • Orlando Pirates recently rejected Zamelek’s R25.8 million bid for Relebohile Mofokeng, which will surely be the first of many offers this year. Bafana boss Hugo Broos believes the 20-year-old will depart in the winter window.
  • The Cape Town City youngster Jaedin Rhodes is one of Orlando Pirates’ priority signings after the club failed to land the former PSL Young Player of the Year in January.

More on Rhodes

Cape Town-born attacker Rhodes is one of the most promising prospects in the PSL. At 21 years old, he has made over seventy appearances—he could be in Orlando Pirates’ colours come the start of next season.

“He (Rhodes) has been one of their (Pirates’) targets for some time now,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They have been monitoring him though there hasn’t been much happening. They were targeting him for the January transfer window period.

“Now that it didn’t happen they have more time to work on it and will see what happens in the next window. But they are interested in him. That I can tell you.”
