PSL transfer news: Iqraam Rayners, Percy Tau, Feisal Salum
The PSL is expecting big names to come and go this summer transfer window, which begins on January 1 (New Years Day).
Several PSL clubs are linked with mega-money moves.
Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have negotiated for weeks in preparation for the January transfer window, the last time any club can buy or sell players this season.
Rumours around the league
- Scottish Giants Glasgow Rangers have submitted an R55 million bid for Sundowns star Iqraam Rayners. The 28-year-old only joined the Brazilians during the offseason but could be tempted to make a move to Europe before it’s too late.
- Percy Tau’s future at Al Ahly appears to be coming to a crossroads, with the former PSL star seeming more likely to leave than stay, and Soweto’s Chiefs and Pirates are monitoring.
- Kaizer Chiefs hope to lure Tanzanian international Feisal Salum amid concerns surrounding Gaston Sirino’s future.
More on the Rayners situation
“It’s true the offer is there (Rayners) and it’s around R55 million, but you know it’s the Sporting Director (Flemming Berg) who deals with such things,” confirmed a SoccerLaduma source.
“He is the one in charge of the dealings at the club and the others do contracts and daily running only. But as far as the outgoings and the incomings are concerned, it’s the Sporting Director and the offer came through his office but it’s there,
“If Sundowns will counter that offer or they can name their price tag if interested. Because it doesn’t mean the offer that Rangers have tabled or offered is the final one. So, any deal still remains in the hands of Sundowns as they have the final say. But as things stand now they are not ready to let their top striker (Rayners) go just after signing him this season. Even though the R55m offer is there it’s not clear cut that a deal would happen.”
