Royal AM: Meet the new owner who replaced MaMkhize
From Royal Security company to Royal AM Football Club! Meet the Durban businessman who replaced MaMkhize…

Royal AM have a new owner who has taken over from Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize following a takeover by SARS in January.
As reported on The South African website, a businessman from KwaZulu-Natal won the bid to purchase Royal AM at last week’s auction.
Now, the name of the new Royal AM owner has been leaked, and a formal announcement is expected in due course.
WHO IS ROYAL AM’S NEW OWNER?
According to local reports in the media, Chockalingam “Roy” Moodley is the new owner of Royal AM.
Moodley is reported to be a controversial businessman who owns Royal Security and has deep political connections.
He is reported to have also won a large SARS tender in 2023, meaning he has the financial muscle to keep Royal AM afloat.
Moodley was reportedly introduced to Royal AM players and staff on Tuesday, and the players were ordered to report for duty on Thursday morning.
And with Thwihli Thwahla lying in position 16 on the log with just eight points from 11 games, Moodley has promised bonuses to players.

This as a form of motivation to try and save Thwihli Thwahla from being relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Now, with that said, all that is left is for the league to announce the news of the club’s return to action and logistics around their fixtures.
Royal AM will remain in the KZN, at least for now, but whether or not they will continue to use the Harry Gwala Stadium as their home venue remains to be seen.
