Soweto Derby:3 out? Predicted Kaizer Chiefs XI vs Orlando Pirates
Kaizer Chiefs could be without as many as three forwards for the Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates today, here is a predicted XI
There will be mixed feelings for Kaizer Chiefs as they enter the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates this weekend.
Chiefs will have both a two wins momentum as well as new signings bounce ahead of the game against Pirates.
Chiefs have two wins in two
Their last league game was a 1-0 victory against a laboured Sekhukhune United. With their opponents not offering much threat, Chiefs showed more endeavour than in previous games. The introduction of George Matlou at number 10 role seemed to have the desired result with his stitch up play. This came at the right time for Amakhosi, with Mduduzi Shabalala injured and then rested.
Then last weekend, Chiefs made easy work of Free Agents FC to progress to the next round of the Nedbank Cup. They opened the scoring through Pule Mmodi who is starting to enjoy a bit of moment in the starting line up. The former Golden Arrows winger scored a brace to set Chiefs well on their way in the first half. They went into the break 2-0 thanks to his exploits on the left flank. The second half would see two more goals from Inacio Miguel and much maligned striker Ranga Chivaviro. There was also a second clean sheet in a row for goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma. Unfortunately they lost joint top goal scorer Wandile Duba to injury.
Three new signings, two out of the Soweto Derby?
That result saw some players give coach Nasreddine Nabi a headache of the Soweto Derby against Pirates. Chiefs added three new signings since that game, in forwards Tashreeq Morris, Glody Lilepo as well as midfielder Thabo Cele. With Morris suspended, it remains to be seen if Lilepo has received his work permit in time.
Here is a predicted Chiefs starting line up to do battle against Pirates. This without Morris and Lilepo:
Predicted starting line up vs Pirates
Bvuma, Bradley Cross, Rushwin Dortley, Miguel, Njabulo Blom, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Cele, Mmodi, Shabalala,Gaston Sirino, Chivaviro.
