Nasreddine Nabi did not come for cheap hence his salary at Kaizer Chiefs is reportedly close to R800 000 a month.

The former Young African coach is one of the highest-earning coaches in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) if not the highest. According to reports, the Tunisian tactician earns roughly R783 000 a month at Amakhosi. The 59-year-old was bought out from AS FAR after just one year with the Moroccan giants. Last year, Chiefs were keen to bring in Nabi.

The Tunisian earns much higher than the two previous coaches at the club.

“In moving to Chiefs, Nabi will improve what will be his monthly gross earnings by figures of about 33,5%. This will take him up to a groan of 40 000 Euros (approx. R783 000),” according to SNL.

It is reported that Nabi was earning roughly R520 000 a month at AS FAR RABAT before he joined Kaizer Chiefs. Upon arrival at the Soweto club, the Tunisian coach made several changes and even brought in seven new players.

This past weekend, Nabi suffered his third league of the season. With a hefty salary, the Kaizer Chiefs coach is starting to feel the heat given his team are ninth in the Betway Premiership after eight matches played.

“You remember the game after the game Castillo was out, I talked to the referee and everyone even the media said I was aggressive with referees. I’m not aggressive with referees, I respect referees because without referees you don’t have football. But today? Ay, ay, ay, today, if I lose, I lose, it’s fine, it’s football but I don’t want to lose because of referees,” he said after the match against Polokwane City.

Is Nabi the right man to take Amakhosi to the next level?
