‘We also have a June window’ – Kaizer Motaung Jr not making promises this transfer period
Kaizer Motaung Jnr refuses to discuss which players Kaizer Chiefs are looking to bring in to Naturena in the January transfer window.
Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior is not giving much away on which players the club is signing this transfer period.
The former Amakhosi striker says transfer talks are a ‘sensitive topic’ but the club were working hard to try to sign new players. The Glamour Boys have struggled to compete for top honours this season under new coach Nasreddine Nabi.
“I think it’s always a sensitive topic because we would love as a team to be able to be transparent and speak to the people,” said Kaizer Motaung Jnr said as per iDiski Times.
“I mean, our people and fans are the most important people and stakeholders, and we respect them tremendously highly.
Kaizer Motaung Jnr mum about transfers
“And I really want to just take away this connotation that ‘the club is not doing anything. The club does not respect the supporters’. They are everything to us! We do everything for them, and it would be foolish for us not to be doing anything in this window,” he said.
Kaizer Motaung Jnr revealed that the club’s management and technical team were working ‘tirelessly’ to ensure they sign the ‘right players’.
“But we also understand that we also have a June window, so we’re preparing on two folds because there’s a short term, but we also have to plan for the next season, so we’re taking the steps that we can, and we’re working very tightly behind the scenes.”
Kaizer Chiefs signed seven new players at the start of the season but only three of them have really found their feet. Last week, Kaizer Chiefs’ football manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that the club were busy trying to bring in top players this transfer period.
