Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has not ruled out Amakhosi’s chances of winning the Betway Premiership.
Amakhosi jumped to fourth on the log following an impressive 1-0 win over Stellenbosch this past Friday. A goal from new signing Makabi Lilepo was enough to give Chiefs their seventh win of the season under Nasreddine Nabi.
After the match, Bobby Motaung told the media that the club was in the right direction.
“It’s a journey, we know it is, but we’re cooking. It’s a process. Give it patience and time,” he said on SuperSportTV.
“To build it takes time, it’s not an overnight success. We are there, the league is not over yet. Let’s see how they go the whole season. It’s early days. But it’s because why we signed them, there is a reason; quality is what we wanted.
Chiefs boss Bobby Motaung feels the club is on the right track
“To help the young boys with experience and quality, that’s what we wanted to do. The jersey is very heavy.
“But we do it for these people, they pack the stadium, they enjoy the game, we do it for them,” Motaung said.
Since the start of the season, Amakhosi have brought 10 players to the club. During the January transfer period, Bobby Motaung remained tight-lipped but hinted at positive developments. “It’s not yet the right time to speak about it, but watch the space, things will come right,” he said then.
By the end of the month, the club announced the signings of Lilepo, Thabo Cele and Tashreeq Morris.
