Orlando Pirates are still basking from the glory of beating Africa’s greatest club in Cairo on Saturday. Soon, they have to start focusing on the next match this week.

ORLAND PIRATES NEXT MATCH

Goals from Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshegofatso Mabasa handed the Sea Robbers a 2-1 win over the Red Devils. While Orlando Pirates will be waiting on the CAF Champions League quarterfinals draw, Jose Riveiro’s side are due to take on Royal AM in the Betway Premiership on Thursday at 19:30 from the Harry Gwala Stadium.

ORLANDO PIRATES MIDFIELDERS CALL EACH OTHER

Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has a close on-field relationship with his Buccaneer central partner Thalente Mbatha. How is it off the grass?

Speaking to the media after last weekend’s superb 2-1 win over CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League, the 35-year-old Makhaula revealed that his relationship with Mbatha in central midfield goes beyond the field of play. “I think he is going far,” Makhaula said on Mbatha via FARPost. ” I’m happy with his progress because he always listens to me,” said the 35-year-old Makhaula.

“Like I said in all the other interviews I have had, we always call each other, check up on each other, and chat about our performances. We also check our games when we were playing for different teams. He is a boy who is very disciplined. When I retire, I want to leave him with a good legacy,” the Orlando Pirates midfielder added.
