Will Gaston Sirino feature for Kaizer Chiefs next year?
According to reports, Sirino allegedly faked injuries, refused to train, and defied Kaizer Chiefs protocols regarding medical procedures.
Kaizer Chiefs attacker Gaston Sirino has reportedly nursing an injury after missing two matches
The Uruguayan forward last played during Amakhosi’s 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City earlier this month.
Once a source of creativity for Kaizer Chiefs in the early part of the season, the 33-year-old’s impact has diminished following an unfortunate injury. Upon joining Naturena, Sirino revitalized the team’s attack, contributing two goals and four assists.
Sirino has missed two matches for Chiefs this month
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star played a key role in helping Amakhosi achieve back-to-back wins in their opening league games. He featured heavily in the first five matches making an impact but things started to change following the November FIFA break.
However, according to Soccer Laduma, Sirino allegedly faked injuries, refused to train, and defied Kaizer Chiefs protocols regarding medical procedures. This situation has been a concern especially for Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The publication reported that sports lawyer Mpho Nkontlha has offered legal opinions on the Uruguayan’s circumstances amid the possibility of his contract being terminated.
It remains to be seen if Sirino will return to action for Chiefs next year. The attacker has missed the TS Galaxy and Chippa United matches. His injury sustained against Rise and Shine is not a concern for the team given their recent performance.
Should Sirino be given special treatment?
