Two Oceans Ultra Marathon: Here’s what time Gerda Steyn will start
One of the biggest weekends in SA road running – the Two Oceans Ultra and Half Marathons – will take place this weekend.

One of the biggest weekends in South African road running – the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and Two Oceans Half Marathon – will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday.
The 56km ultra marathon will take place on Saturday, 5 April, starting at 05:15.
A field of around 14 000 runners, including five-time defending women’s champion, South Africa’s Gerda Steyn, will take to the start line on the corner of Main Road and Dean Street in Newlands.
The finish will be on the University of Cape Town’s rugby fields.
Below is the list of the start times between 05:15 (Group A) and 05:39 (Group N).
Note, there are no group I.
No surprise that Steyn, who is searching for a sixth consecutive win, will start in Group A at 05:15.
Steyn has won every edition of the women’s race since 2018.
The 2020 and 2021 races were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Steyn set the current race record of 3:26:54 in last year’s race.
There will be a R250 000 incentive for Steyn – or anyone else – to break that time.
